ARE YOU PREPARED FOR AN EMERGENCY ?
In the interest of public safety, Building & Life Safety Codes outlines the obligations of building owners in relation to testing and monitoring of Exit signs and Emergency Lighting, to ensure the safe evacuation of occupants in an emergency. It is the responsibility of a building owner to ensure that:
- Functional testing of emergency lighting is conducted at 30 day intervals
- Functional testing of emergency lighting is conducted annually
- Emergency lighting equipment, including exit signs, is fully operational for the duration of the test required
Complying with these requirements can be very expensive and labor intensive, especially in larger buildings where testing requires many labor hours spent manually inspecting and monitoring every emergency lighting unit. In addition, the disruption of the power supply during inspection can put public safety at risk.
Nexus is a real-time emergency lighting monitoring system which offers building owners control over their public safety helps manage installation and directs the maintenance of an emergency lighting system. It is a great tool to add to the building automation arsenal managers or maintenance personnel have come to depend on.
Nexus is available in two different versions:
